According to the United States fish and wildlife service there are 139 threatened and endangered fishes within the U.S. These include everything from minnows and darters, to larger species such as sawfish and pikeminnow.

Turtles
Turtles have been on Earth since the time of dinosaurs and there are still approxiamately 350 Species of them alive today, according to Conservation International. Half of these Species are threatened with extinction due mainly to the destruction of their habitat. Freshwater turtles are also eaten for their supposed medicinal benefit, and the shells are harvested so that the collagen can be used as cosmetics.
