Food Web/Pyramids:
To the left is an example of some Primary Consumers, Secondary Consumers, Tetiary Consumers and Decomposers in the freshwater food web. As you can see plants and algae are always the basis for the food web. Other examples of a freshwater biome food web may include: A river musk rat eating a brown bass which eats algae which has photosynthesis. Another example would be a northern Pike eating a blue gill wwhich eats algae which also has photosynthesis. Our Primary Consumer in this food web would be the bald eagle, the secondary consumer would be the ducks and people and the decomposers would be the fish, plants and algae.
