Symbiosis:
Symbiosis is the close relationship between two organisms of different species which live closely together and interact with eachother; at least one of the two living organisms benefits form this relationship.
Three Types of Symbiotic Relationships:
Commensalism ( Relationship between two organisms in which one partner benefits while the other does not recieve any benefits or harm.) Example: There are midges that live inside cool algae in streams called Nostoc.
Mutualism (the biologic association of two individuals or populations of different species, both of which are benefited by the relationship and sometimes unable to exist without it) Example: A Number of Midwestern turtle species that are ckeaned by leeches and some fish.
Parasitism (A symbiotic relationship in which one species, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host) Example: There are tons of fish and snail parasites that include protozoans, leeches, nematodes, trematodes, and cestodes.
